Why do we Learn English?
English is a foreign language. It does not belong to India. It has a British origin but has developed into an international language. We cannot do without this language. The great art and literature of the world, the developments in science and technology and the great international media is all available in this language. How can we afford not to know about all these things? Other regional languages of the world cannot compete with English. India is an underdeveloped country and it is our first need to be abreast with all the development of the world, to be in contact with the world of media and try to make our next generations knowledgeable citizens of the world. This we can achieve only by learning English first, so that we do not lag behind in the fast developing society of the world.
English language is a window on world civilization. With the fast developments in communication system, English has become the only link language between all countries of the world. We cannot wait for translations. Our youth can easily get jobs in the International job market with a good command over English. The world is developing into a single entity. It matters least, to which country you belong. You should be able to face the competition in your field. The first step to your success is your efficiency in English both in writing and speech. All the doors of top career are opened for you if you are well-versed in this language. It has become mother of all languages. So there should be no prejudice about it and we should leave no stone unturned in learning English.
