My Dear Sister,
Thank you very much for your kind letter. From the college library, I borrow and read books, which are not prescribed in the curriculum. Reading is a very good habit, as Robert Lynd, the father of English essayists, remarked, -Reading makes a man full.’ It makes us better in several ways. And sometimes we come across books which are so interesting that we want to read again and again. I read such a book during the winter vacation. It is a Hindi book of stories by a man who has travelled a lot: Volga to Ganga by Rahul Sankrityayan. Every ‘story tells us something about culture and civilization. We learn about the good points as well as the weakness of the human race. It is full of entertainment and instruction. Every man should read such a book. I intend to purchase a copy when I can get a chance. I will then give it to you for reading. I hope you will like it too.
I hope my younger brother Amit is preparing well for his examination. Please convey my affectionate regards to him.
