Sir,
Through the columns of your esteemed paper I wish to warn the society against rising corruption. People have begun to say that everything can be purchased in this country these days. And there is much truth in what they say. It is now time that we should strike at the root of this evil. For this we will have to check its source. To my mind both the parties to a crime are at fault. The man who takes bribes is not worse than the man who offers. This evil has spread very much after partition. The persons who came as refugees began to bribe, officers for gain. In some cases, they went to any length. Then the evil grew so that nearly everyone is in its grip. Some persons bow down to it unwillingly because they see no way out of it. The result is that there is corruption everywhere. The coil can be stopped only if there are strict laws to punish both sides. Let us hope the society and the Govt. will make up to the necessity of putting an end to this evil in time.
Yours faithfully,
Nikhil
