Pets Day
Shawn left the house earlier than usual that morning. He carried a huge glass bowl in his arms. There were three goldfish swimming inside. He could not wait to get to school. It was Pets Day and his teacher had told everyone in the class to bring their pets to school.
When Shawn arrived at school, he saw many of his classmates with their pets. Many of them had hamsters. One of them even had a yellow and bluebird. It was in a cage. It made a lot of noise. Shawn’s best friend, the Victor, had his pet terrapin. It was so small that it could fit in the palm of his hand. Another classmate, Lucy, had her pet rabbit with her. There were so many animals that the classroom looked like a mini zoo! Shawn placed his goldfish bowl on his desk and walked around the classroom looking at his classmates’ pets. He liked the small furry mice that his friend, Sue, had.
Shawn had a great day in school. He went to the front of the classroom to tell everyone how he got his pet goldfish and how he took care of them. He enjoyed listening to the hilarious stories of his friends whose hamsters always escaped from their cages. It was certainly an interesting day at school.
