Melted Chocolate
“Ring! Ring!” went the bell. It was after recess. George and his classmates were going to the science laboratory for a lesson.
When the Science lesson started, their teacher taught them how to light the Bunsen burner on the table. It was for a project that they were doing for a science fair. George was trembling with excitement. They were usually not allowed to touch the Bunsen burner. He could not wait to get started. Just before the lesson started, George took out a bar of chocolate from his pocket and placed it on the table. He forgot all about his chocolate as he worked on an experiment. He left a beaker of liquid on the burner and turned to talk to his friend. He did not notice how near his chocolate was to the burner. After the experiment, he was shocked to see that his chocolate bar had warped because of the heat. The plastic had melted slightly and the chocolate bar was bent out of shape. He did not dare tell his teacher as he was afraid of getting scolded.
On his way back to the classroom, he tossed the chocolate bar into a dustbin. He had learnt his lesson. He would never bring chocolate into the science laboratory again.
