At the Cinema
“Pass me the popcorn” Ken yelled across the aisle to his friend. The others in the darkened cinema shushed him immediately. Ken was watching ‘Hairspray with his friend but the cinema was so crowded that they had to sit in separate seats.
Ken ignored the other people around him and called out to his friend again. This time, a man behind got up from his seat and demanded that Ken leave the cinema. Ken was furious. He stood up and raised his voice a notch. Just then, an usher came into the cinema. At first, he spoke politely to Ken to tell him to leave as he was disturbing the others. Ken retorted that he had a right to stay in the cinema. He also complained about the poor seating arrangement. Ken’s behaviour was getting out of hand. The usher took him firmly by the arm and led him outside. By then, the rest of the patrons in the cinema were shouting that Ken should leave.
Ken was so embarrassed that he left the cinema without another word. He did not dare look up until he was outside the place. He had learnt his lesson. He would certainly not talk so loudly in the cinema again.
