A Film Screening
I did something different last Saturday evening I watched a film with my family. It was not at a cinema. It was in a hall at the community centre.
The community centre was a short distance from our house. We arrived at the community centre at seven in the evening. There was a good spread of food outside the hall. We ate a hearty meal before going into the hall at eight o’clock. My parents managed to get a good seat in the middle of the hall. Before long, the lights were dimmed and the film began. We sat back to enjoy the show. It was a comedy. Everyone burst out laughing at the funny parts in the film.
Halfway during the film, some of the younger children began whimpering. They wanted to leave the hall. Some of them were taken out by their parents. Some of them were given sweets. Everyone settled down again.
All too soon, the film ended. My parents and I stayed in the hall to talk to the others there. Many of them were our neighbours. We agreed that the film screening was a good idea. We hoped to have more of such screenings in the future.
