The Fascinating World of Ants
Ants are small insects, and are normally black or brown in colour. They are very active and strong, and have a highly developed social organization. They never tire of working and are very dedicated.
Ants have great unity, and work as a team throughout summer, gathering grain and storing it up for winter. If you watch ants walking down a path, or meeting each other on the way, you will notice that they seem to greet each other as they go along.
They are very methodical by nature, and their anthills are well-planned. Once roused, an ant can bite and sting badly. Even the mighty elephant, it is said, can be reduced to nothing if an ant climbs up his trunk and stings him there!
We can learn a great deal from these little insects. They have qualities which man should cultivate too. Ants are synonymous with hard work, team spirit, unity, farsightedness and caution. They also teach us that we should work for what we want—there is no short cut to success.
So small and insignificant, yet, so wise—that’s what ants are all about!
