Should Teenagers Work?
Teenagers should hold jobs to support themselves because it helps them to develop their personality. On the other hand it also gives them a kind of liberty and individuality apart from their parents.
In countries like U.S., U.K. etc. a student holding a job is very common phenomena, but in India, one does not come across this much. In other countries students tend to hold job while studying because their parents encourage them as they believe that it will help them develop their personality. In India, students are discouraged in this matter because parents here give more importance to studies in the formative years.
But the teenagers who hold jobs while still studying gain more knowledge of the world around them. They also become more mature and confident than their peers who are usually dependent on their parents for everything. These teenagers are not able to express themselves in a group as impressively as them.
A student who holds a job can look after his financial needs better and also not dependent on his parents for his expenditures. The nonworking teenager obviously does not have this financial freedom.
Companies should give up this notion that students cannot work. Instead they should encourage the students to work for themselves, so that they can stand on their own. By doing this the firm would help them to develop faith in their own personalities. By doing this these firms would not be helping only teenagers but may help even in improving the local economies.
Moreover, in future the country will get more confident, sensible and dynamic adults, who will work for the betterment of the country.
