Work is Worship
Work is the best kind of worship. It is much better to do one’s work well and thoroughly than to spend one’s days merely chanting hymns or telling the beads of a rosary. According to all great thinkers, God is present everywhere and at all times. We do not have to go to a temple or church to pray—we can do so while performing our humble day-to-day tasks. Indeed, working itself is a form of prayer.
We all know that God helps those who help themselves and we can help ourselves only if we work—not only to possess material things, but to glorify Him who made us. We should work for the upliftment of humanity and the betterment of mankind.
Whatever we do should enhance our own dignity and honour and make us better human beings. Our work should be useful and creative, aiming for the progress of our society and nation. No work should be considered low or demeaning, and no matter how humble it is, if it is for the benefit of the world, it is worth doing.
Work is divine and we can earn the love of God by doing it with dedication. It is also the most befitting way of worshipping God.
