Christmas is a festival celebrated by the Christians, but because Christmas brings so much joy and happiness, it has become a universally celebrated festival. It is celebrated on 25th December, which is the birthday of Jesus Christ. People go to church dressed in new clothes. They have a big Christmas tree in their houses with decorations like streamers, stars, and dolls hanging from the branches. Gifts are brought for friends and family, who normally gather together for a grand dinner. In Church, Christmas carols are sung and the Father says prayers. Cards are sent to friends all over the world to wish them happiness and good luck. Children hang old stockings outside their windows, for Santa Claus is sure to come and give them lovely gifts.
