Sir,
The number of tourists in India is steadily increasing. Foreign tourists visit India all round the year to see our ancient cities, beautiful mountains and beaches and national parks. Indians also travel extensively during their annual holidays and visit many places in India.
I live in a small town named Shikarpur not far from Delhi. It is a very old town, established by the Mughal rulers who built many hunting lodges here and used it as base for their hunting expeditions. Some of these lodges are still in good condition and are maintained by the local archaeological department. The town is bordered by dense shrub land and woods where one can still see the spotted deer, brown rabbit and many birds of different species. This town could easily become a popular tourist place if some facilities can be provided_ A good motor able road linking Delhi and our town, a couple of motels and a regular taxi service and good publicity would bring it to the notice of national and international tourists. This would ensure a steady flow of tourists to our town and restore its lost glory.
Your truly,
Vinay
