Early to Bed, Early to Rise
any to bed, early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise’ is a very familiar proverb. And it is apt too, for if we do not get enough sleep, our minds and bodies will not function efficiently. Excess of sleep can be as bad as lack of it.
There is a certain amount of sleep that our body requires. It is only natural that a persop who sleeps late will get up late, and one who sleeps early will get up early.
The early hours are the most refreshing and peaceful. The air is fresh and pollution-free. Taking a walk early in the morning is very invigorating and it makes us feel active throughout the day. In cities, where life is so hectic and artificial, it is a real boon to be able to rise early and spend a quiet, unruffled morning.
Rising early is only a matter of habit and can be cultivated. If there is enough time to do the work, there is less tension! So it is worth getting up early and doing one’s work slowly and carefully.
Students find it much easier to concentrate on their studies if they rise early. They feel fresh after a night’s rest, and there is no disturbance of any kind.
