The Clever Chef
Mr. Gordon was a chef in a newly opened bistro. Many people patronized the bistro because of the delectable food that Mr. Gordon cooked. He often changed his menu so people liked to eat at the restaurant to find out if he had new dishes.
Mr. Gordon was good at creating unique dishes. The most unique dish he created was by accident. He was supposed to make his signature dish ‘Honey Roasted Herb and Spice Chicken’. However, one of his helpers had prepared a fish instead of a chicken for him. He also put more spices than he was supposed to. Mr. Gordon was furious at first. The restaurant was crowded and the patron was a famous food critic. As Mr. Gordon did not have the time to prepare another chicken, he used the fish that his helper had prepared. He squeezed lemon juice on it and stuffed it with some minced meat. Then, he steamed it. The result was a mouth-watering dish with a zestful flavour. The food critic loved it.
From then on, Mr. Gordon’s bistro became even more popular. Everyone who tried his new dish was singing his praises. People came from far and wide to try his food.
