Write a letter to your uncle describing your last day at school.

S.D. Higher Secondary School,

Agra.

March 15, 20XX.

My Dear Uncle,

It is always a great pleasure to hear from you. The 5th of March was my last day at school. This was the most memorable day of my school career.

First of all, all the five sections of the 10th class were photographed, one by one. All the boys had come in their gala dressed and they looked at their best. Then came the feast. It was a sumptuous feast which the students of the 9th class gave to the outgoing 10th class.

It was followed by the most serious part of the programme. The students made farewell speeches. Mr. Aakash of our class read out an address to the worthy Headmaster. In their speeches, the students expressed their great appreciation and admiration of the treatment that they had received at the hands of the teachers, the Headmaster and the school committee. They had all taken parental interest in them. They had spared no pains to mould their character and make them good citizens. They had taught both by example and precept. The students made a solemn promise that they would always remain loyal and faithful to the school. They would never do anything unworthy of a gentleman. They would never tarnish the fair name of the school. They would always love their school and come running when the school wanted them.

Then the teachers, the Headmaster and the Secretary of the school made speeches. The exhorted time at their disposal. They advised them to-play the game in life and go out to serve their country and fellow-men. The Headmaster’s words would always ring in our ears and guide and light our path in life. He said, “Act, move and behave in such a manner that we may all say proudly, ‘Here are our jewels, here are our gems; The only sin on earth is to do things badly. If sinners entice thee, consion thou not.” In the end, he gave us his blessings and wished us god-speed, the best of luck and the best of success.

One by one, we offered our parting salution to our teachers, got their blessings and took leave of them and our almamater with a heavy heart.

With respects,

Yours affectionately,

Raj KishanAnand.
