My dear Mother,
In your last letter, you have asked me to describe my life here. But what should I describe? Everything here is regular but mechanical.
I get up early in the morning except on Sundays and holidays when I sleep for long hours. I have to get ready quickly and take my breakfast before 7.30 a.m. The school timings are 8.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. with a lunch break. During this break, I rush to the school mess for lunch. Usually, there is a great rush. I take evening tea at the school canteen. Then we play for about an hour on the school ground. I take dinner at about 8.00 p.m. I study up to 11.30 p.m. and then go to bed. This is the routine of almost every hosteller. A load of studies is quite heavy. The mess food is also not up to the mark.
But you need not worry. I am getting used to this routine. Besides, my room-mate Megha is a nice girl and we are getting on well. Together we have got rid of home-sickness.
