My dear Gambhir,
Last Sunday I paid a visit to the Golden Temple at Amritsar. I was accompanied by my brother. The Golden Temple is the most sacred temple for the Sikhs. It is situated in the middle of a tank of clear water. People from far and near come here to pay respect to the Guru Granth Sahib.
At first we took a dip in the tank. Then we offered ‘Prashad’ and paid obeisance at the sanctum sanctorum. We sat there for some time to listen to the Shabad-Gurbani. After this we went to the langar-hall. The devotees were sitting in rows to partake of community food. We also enjoyed the food with them.
The visit to the Golden Temple had a very soothing effect on our minds. We felt peace in the calm and quiet atmosphere. We did not want to come out of the temple but we had to. I wished to stay there forever. I cherish the memories of the visit even now. I suggest that you should also visit this holy place.
