Sir
Through the columns of your esteemed paper I wish to express my feelings about the evil influence of T.V. and Video, especially on the youth of the country. Time is the most valuable gem in life and the time of the young people is most important. It is now that they can prepare themselves to be successful in life and also good citizens. Formerly students worked so much at their study that it was said that all work and no play makes one a dull boy. Now the condition is quite opposite. We have to tell our youth that all play and no work will make them useless failures. The T. V. and Video are at the root of this mischief. Boys used to have an hour’s recreation on the field for games in the evening. Now they have T. V. programmes for at least twelve hours a day. And the Video is there to waste any time that is left. They also instill bad habits. Many a young man has become a criminal after watching crime stories. The Govt. should help the parents in curbing this nuisance. The time should be limited and the programmes and serials should be carefully censored.
Yours faithfully,
Rohan
