Write a letter to the Editor of a newspaper about the inconveniences caused by the use of Loudspeakers during religious festivals.

Sir,
Through the columns of your esteemed newspaper would you kindly allow me to appeal to the good sense of the public and the Government against the continuous use of microphones during our religious festivals?
The microphone is no doubt a great blessing of modern science having a great educative value. But its continuous use by the young people in religious festivals ’causes a great disturbance to the public. At any puja, whether it is Kali or Durga or Saraswati or Manasa or Sitala, microphones blare out Hindi film songs day and night for a number of days. People living near a puja pandal find it extremely difficult to relax or sleep at home. It causes special inconvenience to us as students. The same old songs heard over the microphones over and over again are a source of disgust rather than delight. It is said that microphones are prohibited during specified hours of the day. But the organisers of pujas hardly pay any heed to this.
It is, therefore, high time for the Government to regulate their use during festivals and similar occasions so that the people may enjoy leisure and sound sleep at night.
Yours faithfully,
Sidharth Rastogi
