Subject: Defects in the Examination for Class XII
Sir,
I would like to draw your kind attention towards the defects in the present system of examination for Class XII.
Firstly, the number of questions is so high that it is impossible to do them in the allotted time of 3 hours. For example, in English (Core) Paper, ten questions are asked. Besides comprehension passages, most of these questions are to be answered in about 100 words and then there is the other sections of Reading and Writing also.
Secondly, the present system tends to discourage systematic study and encourages gambling in probable question which benefit those student who are good at cramming. It makes students good parrots but poor learners.
I hope you will take up this matter with the Central Board.
Thanking you,
Yours faithfully,
X.Y.Z.
