To a friend, on a Disappointment
My dear Ramesh,
I was disappointed to receive your letter and to learn that your have not been successful in the B.A. Examination.
Although I send you my sympathies, I feel you ought not to be unduly distressed at the result. Your long illness must have been considerable handicap to you especially as it reduced to two months the time you had available for covering the syllabus. Many fellows with less courage than you would have withdrawn their entry in similar circumstances. You are still eligible to sit again for the examination and I am confident that this time next year I shall be sending you a letter, not of sympathy but of congratulation.
With kind regards and every good wish.
Yours sincerely
Vinod
