The Quarrelsome Boy
James rolled up his sleeves and put his hands on his hips. He glared at his classmate, Joel, angrily. He had just taken his seat in the canteen. Joel frowned in annoyance at James but he did not say a word. He took his bowl of noodles and shifted to another seat.
James plopped himself between two of his other classmates. He always sat in the same place during recess. If anyone sat at his place, he would quarrel with them. He was about to eat when he noticed that Sandra, who was next to him, was eating a plate of chicken rice. James did not like the smell of chicken rice. He turned to Sandra and shouted at her. He insisted that she should move further from him. Sandra tried to explain that there was no space for her to move but James refused to listen. He told her that she was very inconsiderate. For the rest of recess, no one spoke to James. They knew that he would pick an argument with them no matter what they said.
After finishing his food, James returned the bowl to the stall and went off to the field. However, no one wanted to let him play with them. James had no choice but to sit quietly by himself.
