The Playful Boy
Nicholas hated studying. He preferred to play with his handheld games. When he was not playing with his games, he liked to play football and basketball.
The examinations were around the corner but Nicholas still did not want to revise his work. When it was not raining, he went to the park to play football. His friends could not play with him as they were studying but he played on his own. He only returned home in the afternoon. When it was time for work, he would doze off just five minutes after he started. At night, he hid in his room playing handheld games when he was supposed to be studying. He even hid under his blanket to continue playing when it was time to sleep. His parents were exasperated. They did not know what to do with him. They took away his handheld games but he still refused to study. He would play with his pet dog; stare out the window or just sleep.
Nicholas was shocked when his examination results were announced. He had just scraped through all his subjects. He received the lowest marks in class. He was so embarrassed that he decided to mend his ways.
