The mobile phone, a wonderful invention, is the latest gift of science to man. A mobile phone is a very small instrument but performs very big functions. It is in fact, an improved version of the landline phone and enables us to talk to anybody in any part of the universe. It makes conversation possible whether we are travelling by car, bus, train or aeroplane.
This phone has received tremendous responses from people all over the world. It is used by businessmen to remain in constant touch with customers, branch offices, field workers and all other associates who are affiliated with them. Almost all the big cities of the world are connected with the mobile network. The mobile phone has played a very vital role, especially whenever there is an emergency such as an accident, a robbery, murder or sudden serious illness. Today we find more or less every man, woman and college-going student making use of a mobile phone. Even School-going students have started using mobile phones. However, the mobile phone has also added to criminal activities and it is used by the criminals and the underworld from any place and at any time.

The Mobile Phone
David wanted a mobile phone very badly. However, his mother refused to buy one for him.
On his way home from school one day, David saw a mobile phone lying on the floor at the void deck. He picked it up immediately. It was one of the latest models. David looked around. The void deck was deserted. He quickly stuffed the phone into his pocket. When he reached home, he hid in his room and took out the mobile phone. The owner had downloaded several songs and games in it. David listened to the songs and tried the different games. He was so engrossed in them that he did not notice his mother walking into the room. She was shocked to see David with a mobile phone. She demanded to know where he got the mobile phone from. David lowered his head in shame. He mumbled that he had picked it up at the void deck.
David’s mother took him to the nearby police station to turn in the phone. To their surprise, a man was making a report about his lost phone. He leapt up in relief when he saw the phone. David hurriedly returned the phone to the man. He promised his mother that he would not take another person’s phone again.
