My Neighbourhood
I like my neighbourhood, a housing estate situated in Palms Estate, I consider myself lucky to be staying in this area as it is reputed to be the best in terms of cleanliness, facilities and security. There is neither a littering problem nor unsightly junk in lifts and along staircases. This is a common sight in other housing estates.
Many convenient public facilities are available in my neighbourhood. There are a few schools in the area and the school which I am attending is just within walking distance. This is not only convenient but also time-saving. There is also a public library near my house. For those residents who enjoy swimming, there is a public swimming complex just across the road.
My neighbourhood is a shoppers’ paradise. There are two shopping complexes and numerous shops to serve the customers. Here, the residents can buy almost anything at reasonable prices.
As Palms Estate is not new, many of the residents know or recognize one another. There is much interaction among the residents and I believe this interaction brings each and every one of us closer together as a community.
