My Lost Dog
It was a cool evening so I decided to take my dog Ruffles, for a walk. I hooked its lead to its collar and we left the house.
Ruffle was very excited. It liked to sniff at everything. It sniffed at strangers’ legs, chairs, the grass, and even pieces of paper on the ground. I walked quickly and dragged Ruffles behind me. I wanted to go to the playground. I did not even notice that Ruffles was missing. I had the fright of my life when I turned around and realized that it was not at the end of the lead. Ruffles had been tugging so hard at the lead that it had broken. I panicked. I retraced my steps to try to look for Ruffles. I had walked a few steps before I noticed a white fluffy tail sticking out from behind the dustbin. 1 peered around and saw Ruffles chewing at a piece of paper that someone had thrown on the ground. I was so angry that I began shouting at Ruffles. It stared at me in surprise and began whining. I immediately felt sorry for Ruffles and carried it in my arms.
We went home after that. The lead was broken and I did not want Ruffles to run away again.
