My Friend
My parents and I went to the airport immediately after breakfast. I could not wait to meet the girl whom I had been communicating with on the Internet. Her name was Patricia. She was from Australia. She would be staying at my house for a week.
I looked out eagerly for a girl about my height, with glasses and blonde hair. It was easy to spot her in the sea of faces as she stood out. She was very tall and pretty. I called out her name and waved excitedly to her. She was just as excited to see me. She gave me a bear hug. We talked nonstop as we walked towards my father’s car.
We spent the whole week visiting many interesting places in Singapore. We sat on the Singapore Flyer, built sandcastles at Palawan Beach in Sentosa, and even toured the museums. There was always something new to do every day. On Patricia’s last night in Singapore, my grandmother cooked a feast for her. Patricia could not stop eating. She loved the food.
When it was time for her to leave, my parents sent her to the airport. I promised to visit Patricia during the next school holidays.
