My Co-curricular Activity
I like playing the harmonica. I have been in the Harmonica Club in school since I was in Primary Two. I have taken part in competitions.
Every Wednesday afternoon, my friends and I meet in the music room to practice. We have a music teacher who teaches us how to hold the harmonica and how hard to blow into the holes. We slide our mouths along the holes to make melodious sounds. We play as a group but sometimes we play individually. We learn how to play the melodies of popular songs. Sometimes during our lessons, we play and dance along to the music. We have a lot of fun. The three-hour lesson passes very quickly. Last year, we took part in the National Harmonica Championship. We came in third. I was very pleased with myself because I was the youngest in the group that had been selected for the competition. After the competition, I was determined to practice even harder so that I could be a better player.
I hope to belong to a National Harmonica Orchestra one day. Although the harmonica is a small instrument, it is not easy to play. There are also many unique sounds that the harmonica can make.
