Helping My Best Friend
I was doing my homework when the telephone rang. It was my best friend, Joyce. She was frantic. She asked me to go to her house straightaway.
When I arrived at Joyce’s house, she showed me a crystal figurine that had broken into two. Joyce said that she was cleaning the shelf when she accidentally pushed the figurine off the shelf. It fell on the floor. Luckily, it did not break into pieces. Joyce wanted to glue the pieces together but she did not know how to. She had tried many times and now there was glue all over the table.
I tried my best to help Joyce. I told her to hold the figurine in place while I put the glue. Together, we managed to put the figurine back. We wanted to put the figurine back on the shelf but I told Joyce that she should tell her parents the truth. I was sure that they would forgive her.
Just then, Joyce’s parents returned home. They were furious when they saw the figurine. However, they knew that Joyce was only trying to clean the shelf. They reminded Joyce to be careful next time. They also thanked me for helping to put the figurine back.
