Dressing Up
Samantha fastened the necklace around her neck and pulled her hair into a ponytail. She looked at herself in the full-length mirror and smiled with satisfaction. She looked beautiful. Putting on her high heels, she left the house to meet her friends.
Samantha was very vain. She dressed up to the nines whenever she went out. No matter where she went, she would put on jewellery and make-up. Even when she was playing in the park with her friends, she would wear a matching set of T-shirts and shorts. However, Samantha sometimes felt uncomfortable in her clothes. She looked nice but she could not move about freely like her friends who were always in jeans and T-shirts. She could not run for the bus like them or jump up onto the top of low walls. She felt miserable but she wanted to look her best at all times. She did not want to look drab like her friends.
Unlike her friends, Samantha often spent her free time trying to mix and match her clothes. She did not enjoy playing handheld games or watching television. Instead, she likes to rummage through her clothes as well as her mother’s 10 to see what she could wear.
