Animal Day
Martha held her pet cat in her arms as she walked into school. Many other students were also walking to school with their pets. There were students carrying fish tanks with brightly-coloured fish. Some students were holding dogs on a lead. There were also students with hamsters in cages. It was Animal Day at school. Martha could not wait to tell her friends about her cat.
Martha went straight to her classroom. Many of her classmates were already there. Her best friend, Alicia, squealed in delight and ran towards her. She loved Martha’s cat. Martha let Alicia carry it. The class monitor, Philip, had two white furry rabbits. Many of Martha’s classmates had fishes and hamsters. Tom, Martha’s partner, had a small but noisy chihuahua.
When the teacher came into the classroom, everyone was ready to talk about his pet. Martha was talking about her pet cat when it suddenly jumped out of her arms and ran towards a bowl of fish. Martha shrieked and ran after it. Luckily she managed to catch it in time. She carried it in her arms and hugged it tightly.
It was an interesting day at school. The children were sad when it was time to pack up and return home.
