An Ice-skating Show
Cheryl squeezed through the throngs of people at the entrance to the hall. She held her mother’s hand tightly. They were going to watch ‘Disney on Ice’. A rush of cool air greeted them as they neared their seats. To Cheryl’s delight, their seats were near the rink.
There were vendors selling Disney memorabilia like caps, wands and toys. Cheryl’s mother bought her a cap and a wand. It was not long before the show started. Cheryl was very excited when she saw Mickey and Minnie glide onto the rink. She could hardly stay in her seat. Once, they came so close to her seat that she wanted to rush forward to touch them.
All Cheryl’s favourite characters appeared in the show. Whenever the characters spun around, droplets of water would splatter from the rink. Cheryl was enthralled. She shouted out the names of the characters whenever they appeared. When they were near her, she waved excitedly to them. When the show ended, all the characters stood in a semicircle facing the audience. Cheryl gave them a standing ovation.
Outside the hall, Cheryl persuaded her mother to buy her some Disney toys from a stall. She went home with a huge bag of things. She could not wait to watch another performance.
