A Robotics Lesson
“Do not touch any of the Lego pieces in the room.” Mrs. Phillip warned the students. Jeff nodded solemnly. He looked serious but he was bursting with excitement. He was having his first robotics lesson.
Once everyone was seated, the teacher began her lesson. Everyone gasped in surprise when she showed them a robot that she had made. It could move in a straight line, turn and pick up objects. Jeff could not wait to try making his own robot. However, he was disappointed when the teacher told them to build only a very simple robot. It did not even look like a robot. The lesson only became more interesting when his teacher taught them how to program the robot to walk in a straight line. Jeff and his friends had a fun time competing to see whose robot could move the fastest. They were so engrossed in what they were doing that they did not even realize that the lesson was over. As other classes had to use the laboratory, they had to dismantle their robots. Jeff and his classmates packed the Lego pieces and switched off the computer before leaving the laboratory,
Jeff could not wait for the next robotics lesson. His teacher was going to teach them how to program their robots to do more actions.
