A Meal Gone Wrong
Mr. and Mrs. Smith were at the restaurant with their children, Joe and Marie. The restaurant was packed but they were able to get a seat. There was a small fountain next to their table.
As the restaurant was very crowded, the Smith family had to wait for a long time for their food. Joe and Marie were feeling restless. They began running around the fountain. Their parents were furious. Mrs. Smith reached out to grab them but they ran even faster. They did not bother about the angry looks that the other customers were giving them.
Just then, a waiter came towards them. He had a tray of food in front of him. As he was busy trying to balance the tray, he did not notice the children. They did not notice him either. Before anyone could shout out a warning, there was a loud crash. A thunderous clanging sound was heard. A hush fell over the restaurant. Everyone was staring at the mess of plates and food on the floor. The waiter was sprawled on the floor. There was food all over his uniform.
The children hurried back to their seats meekly. Mr. and Mrs. Smith apologized profusely for what had happened. They decided to leave the restaurant immediately.
