A Kind-hearted Girl
Charlene was washing the dishes in the kitchen when she noticed a small black creature running across the wall in front of her. It was a cockroach but Charlene ignored it.
Charlene was a kind-hearted girl. She could not bring herself to hurt anyone or anything. She did not even kill ants. Just then, she heard a scream from behind her. Her younger sister had seen the cockroach crawling in the kitchen. She rushed to get a bottle of insecticide but Charlene stopped her. She snatched the insecticide from her sister and told her not to harm the cockroach. Her sister shouted at her in annoyance. She hated all pests and she was terrified of cockroaches. Ignoring Charlene, she tried to hit at the cockroach with a slipper but Charlene snatched the slipper from her sister and chased her out of the kitchen. She watched the cockroach as it made its way to a drainage hole at the end of the kitchen. She heaved a sigh of relief when she saw it scuttle into the hole. Now, her sister would not be able to kill it.
Charlene continued washing the dishes. She felt sorry for pests like the cockroach. She was glad that her sister did not kill it.
