A Charity Concert Show
“Our seats are here!” Winnie shouted excitedly to her parents. They were at the Mediacorp studio. They were going to watch a charity concert to raise funds for a home for the elderly. The place was filled with people from all walks of life. Some of them were dressed in glittery outfits.
The concert started on time. The first performance was by a group of children from a primary school. They sang and danced to popular songs. The compere urged everyone to call in to donate to the home. He repeated the number many times. The second performance was a skit by a group of popular local celebrities. The skit was very funny. The audience was in stitches. The third performance was less cheery. It was by a group of elderly who were from the home. They made music by knocking wooden sticks together. Most of them looked weak and fragile. There was a standing ovation for them. Their performance also brought in the most number of calls for donations.
There were more than ten performances at the concert. The concert ended on an upbeat note. All the performers were on stage. They sang one last song and thanked everyone for their donations.
