A Car Race
David stood between two other boys. He gripped the remote control in his hands. There were three colourful cars on the ground in front of them. The race was about to start. It was the first time the community centre had held a remote-controlled car race.
Soon, a whistle was blown. David pressed the red button on his control as hard as he could. His car shot forward. The other two cars followed closely behind. They sped down a straight road and screeched around the first bend. The spectators cheered.
The cars zoomed along the ground. There were some sharp turns and the boys had to slow down. At one of the turns, one of the boys did not slow down. He did not make the turn. His car hit the kerb and overturned. David was a good driver. He turned his car smoothly around each bend and zoomed off towards the finishing line. David’s hands were wet with sweat. He was both excited and nervous. He kept his eyes on his car and made it move as fast as he could.
Zoom! The car reached the finishing line way before the other one. David was the winner! He cheered and jumped up and down with joy.
