A Brave Fireman
The fire had spread to other houses. The heat was so intense that the firemen could not even approach the burning houses. Large sprays of water were used to extinguish the fire. Two fire engines were also directing jets of water towards a row of houses just next to the houses on fire. They were trying to prevent the fire from spreading to the neighbouring houses by keeping the houses wet. The occupants desperately wanted to retrieve their belongings. However, the policemen stopped them from entering the houses. It was too dangerous to do so.
Suddenly, a voice crying for help was heard from one of the upper floor windows of a burning house. A little girl was trapped in her bedroom. Quickly, one of the firemen ran into the burning building and broke down the door. The rest watched anxiously. The house could collapse any moment.
About a minute or two later, the fireman shouted from the window. A ladder was raised from the fire engine to reach the fireman. The crowd cheered as the brave fireman climbed down from the window with the little girl in his cms. He had risked his life to save her.
