The Way I Spent My Summer Vacations
Vacations are the best time to relax and enjoy. I eagerly wait for my summer vacations every year. After the hard work done for the examinations, I wanted to have rest as well as some change.
Next morning, I asked my parents to take me outstation. My father explained that it was not possible to go because all the hotels and resorts must be booked well in advance. I was completely disappointed.
Fortunately, after a few days I received an invitation from by sister and her husband to visit them in Mumbai. Although summers were going in Mumbai too. I decided to have a change by visiting them. My parents could not accompany me for some reasons. As I am too small to travel alone, they asked my uncle to join me. My father made all other arrangements.
My sister came to receive us at the railway station. The name of the station was Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus the station was very big. Several people entered and exited the station. Many trains were arriving and departing the station at the same time. We drove home in a cool cab. On my way to my sister’s home, I saw many short as well as tall buildings. There were different shops on either side of the roads. People walked on the footpaths. Some of them appeared to be in haste. The roads were wide. Many vehicles travelled in a great speed at the same time. I had heard that there were many shopping centres in Mumbai where people could buy anything they wanted from the same roof. Finally, we reached home. I relaxed in my sister’s air-conditioned bedroom for the rest of the day.
The next day my sister and her husband took us for an animated movie in a nearby theatre. After the movie ended, we took lunch in a restaurant. Later we even spent some time shopping in local markets. I bought few clothes, toys and painting books. As I was tired for the day, we started for the home.
Right from early in the morning we sat out of the house. I saw famous Chinese garden, Hanging garden, Victoria garden and Kamla Nehru Park. We visited the Chow patty beach and then Taraporevala Aquarium. I saw many small and big fishes in huge water tanks. By late afternoon, we went to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya. In evening, I felt hungry. This time we ate from the local stalls. We sat in a cool cab and started for the home.
During my stay in Mumbai, I noted that people dressed very well. They loved to be fashionable. I saw aged women in tops, shorts and jeans. Young girls wore t-shirts, miniskirts and shot pants. Boys too were not far behind. Some loved to have long hair like girls. They even did ponytails. They looked funny. Of all the vacations, this was my best summer vacation ever, mainly because my sister was with me after three years. After returning home, I told my parents that I would plan similar holidays for every summer vacation.
Although the vacation is over and I am back to school, I am still remembering the sweet memories of the summer vacation. I will wait for the next summer holidays and would love to go on such type of vacation repeatedly.
