Smoking
A cigarette tucked between two fingers makes a mar manly that is what a smoker thinks. It is confirmed that smoking is injurious to health. Tobacco contains a ready poison-nicotine. This poison, when inhaled, damages lungs heart, brain and lever. Even passive smokers fall victims to this poison. They also inhale the smoke puffed out by the active smoker. The icons of our youngsters throw rings of smoke out of their mouth and come out victorious against all odds. Youngsters think that smoking has imparted extra strength to their icons and ideals. This makes them copy them knowing very well that smoking is injurious. Statutory warning and visuals printed on the cigarette packs and other tobacco products against smoking and chewing of tobacco have failed to frighten people. One puff leads to another and soon man gets addicted to smoking. A slow death looms large on the users of tobacco. Is not it ironical that smoking is on the increase? Propaganda and persuasion have failed to curb the menace. It is only self realization and will power that can kick out the lady nicotine once for all. Killing kiss and advances of the lady nicotine must be checked ruthlessly.
