Science and health, today, go hand in hand. Science has lot of achievements in the field of medicine and especially in the field of surgery.
Earlier it was impossible to save a human who suffered from heart or brain injuries or other such condition but today all this is possible because of science. Broken bones can be normally joined and the functioning of the various parts of the body can be viewed through medical instruments. Through the X-ray machine it has become possible to see even the minute internal injuries, ulcers and tumours in any part of the human body. Thus science has done a lot for the sake of sick.
Our ancestors believed that illness was a divine punishment but today we know about its causes. Disease like smallpox, malaria and other such ones can be prevented successfully today with the help of vaccination. The greatest discovery perhaps of all in the history of medical science was the discovery of Penicillin and other antibiotic medicines used for the treatment of smallpox and other diseases, which otherwise used to take a heavy toll on the human lives. The Penicillin was discovered by Dr. Fleming.
Today, many medical institutes are doing research in the field of medicine and surgery in order to find better cures. Therefore science has successfully worked in eradication of diseases.
Sometimes even good eating habits helps better than medicines and help to cure temporary setbacks to health. Saying like “Prevention is better than cure” and “An apple a day keeps a doctor away” also carry the sanction of science.
Therefore, it can be said that science has made possible for human beings to lead a healthier life.
