Pythagoras
Pythagoras was born in 569 BC in Samos, Ionia and died in 475 BC. His father was Mnesarchus and his mother was Pythais, a native of Samos. His father was a merchant who came from Trye. As a child, Pythagoras spent his beginning years in Samos, but then travelled with his father. It is not accurate whether or not Pythagoras had two or three brothers. Pythagoras was said to be well educated. He played the lyre, learned poetry and was able to recite Homer.
