Napoleon Bonaparte
Napoleon Bonaparte was born on August 15, 1769 in Ajaccio on the Mediterranean island of Corsica. Through his military exploits and his ruthless efficiency, Napoleon rose from obscurity to become Napolean-1, Emperor of France. He is both a historical figure and a legend, considered an icon by the people of France. Napoleon extended the borders of France and brought back power as well as respect to a land that had lost everything. A man who had such great respect from his people that he named himself Emperor of France without any objection. The overwhelming majority of his accomplishments stood unsurpassed by any other French ruler to come before or after his rein. He transformed from a life of poverty to a life of riches and glory. The remarkable leadership skills he possessed such as impeccable memory, influential negotiating skills, and a technically sound military strategy made him an overwhelming opponent. Napoleon, allowed subordination of nationalism to get the best of him, as he lost sight for the well-being of his country. Focused on completing his own destiny, would conclude to be his downfall. He was the second of eight children of Carlo (Charles) Bonaparte and Letizia Ramolino Bonaparte.
