Life is action and not contemplation
This proverb brings to the forefront the importance of hard work in our daily lives. It says that thoughts alone are not enough to change the realities of our world. It is an action that paves the way for the development and enrichment of the society. Over the centuries there may have been numerous people who have held radical points of view. Yet only a handful of them has been successful in bringing about the desired change in the society. They were the those who have acted on their beliefs. The purpose of this proverb is however not to downgrade the contemplatory aspect of life. This is also an important part and it is not without reason that universities have existed along with the artisans all through the centuries. Sublime thoughts from the intellectual citadels have been given concrete shape by the dexterous touch of the artists of the world. To say that all great men of the world were contemplators or workers would be wrong. They were a little of both. They did not hesitate to accept the challenges that came their way, neither did they feel ashamed to dream an impossible dream. They were the ones who dared to make castles in the air and create these castles in reality.
