Japan Ocean
The area of the Japan Ocean is 10,07,800 square kilometer, with its deepest point Central basin of 3,742 meter and an average depth of the ocean is of 1,350 meter. Japan Ocean begins off the east coast of Taiwan and flows north-eastward past Japan, where it merges with the easterly drift of the North Pacific Current. It is analogous to the Gulf Stream in the Atlantic Ocean, transporting warm, tropical water northward towards the Polar region. It is also sometimes known as the Black Stream. It has three important Basins in it. They are: Yamato Basin, Japan Basin and Susie Basin.
