This is the age of science and technology. We are going through a modern age. India is leading in the field of science and technology in this sub-continent. India’s dream is to become a world power and a country of 21st century in next three to four decades.
When India became free on 15 August, 1947, its industrial position was weak as the foreign rulers kept it industrially backward. We always remember our beloved leader late Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru, the then Prime Minister, who brought revolution in the field of industrialization right from 1951 through periodical five-year-plans. He had a high vision in this direction. He knew the need for expansion of industries for making India industrially sound and self-dependent for all kind of goods and machinery. He was of the firm opinion that the country like India can be made powerful and advanced only after its technological, scientific and industrial development.
That was the time of early fifties, when we depended for all kind of machines and their spare parts on foreign countries. We were getting all the items by importing them and at a high cost. These items were reaching in the country very late which was causing inordinate delay affecting progress of work in all the fields.
India started improving economically and industrially after late sixties. We started a number of research and development laboratories throughout the country for industrial advancement. As a result, the output in all the factories and industries increased. India started to produce many tools, machineries, spare parts and other goods within the country. That made us a self-dependent country by achieving desired progress in all the sectors. All the things, which were made within the country, were cheaper and guaranteed.
As regards industrialization in the field of defence, we started progressing only after Indo-China war in 1962. India realized the necessity of modern armaments for becoming militarily strong for enabling the country to face the challenges, and safeguard the country. India raised a number of gun factories, ordnance depots and aeronautic workshops to manufacture the latest arms, ammunition, equipment’s and spare parts are large scale for modernizing the armed forces. India always stressed on industrial modernization and implemented all the plans and policies related to industries for speedy growth. We have succeeded in the field of industrialization. The factories and industries were expanded throughout the country by following modernized system. We are producing good quantity as well as quality today with latest machines and technology to compete with the global market. India’s exports are increasing day-by-day. India is now capable of producing the goods of world class. We have progressed a lot in the field of new technology and computerization which has enhanced India’s image at the world level. India is emerging as a strong nation in the world by progressing in all the fields. It has already succeeded in launching numerous satellites one after another and made the world wonder-struck over its achievement. India is growing economically well because its modernized industries are now growing with record production.
India has a number of natural resources, which are by and large adequate for the industrial growth. As a result, Indian industries are producing very well and succeeding in earning adequate foreign exchange. India is now capable of producing the items having latest technology and function.
Our country itself is a big consumer’s market. There is a successful democratic system in India. The environment within the country is peaceful. There is a vast scope of industrial development in the country specially in the field of agriculture, power sector, tourism, science, technology, textile and so on. That is the reason of attraction for multinational companies, which are coming to India for investing into industries and factories. It is quite necessary in the interest of the country which is helping in growing our economy and making us industrially a strong competitor at the global level.
The youth of India has played a significant role in boosting the industrial reputation of the country. The good brain is now choosing industrial sector, which is helping in increasing the efficiency as well as productivity in the industrial sector.
There is no doubt that India has progressed a lot in the field of science, technology, research work and industrialization. We are a nuclear power because of industrial and scientific advancement. The world is moving very fast. If we want to make our dreams true and win the race in the global market, we need to work more. The time has come when we should look towards the developed and the rich countries which are dominating the world. It is due to their scientific and technical achievements, that they became highly industrialized. Their industries produce the goods having super quality, which carry the value and dominance in the global market. India needs to follow the same pattern of working to win the race of the world.
The time has come when India has to go for industrial revolution by modernizing both small and large scale industries to achieve quantitative and qualitative production and prove itself as an effective competitor in the world market. It can be possible only when we make the country economically strong which will automatically help us to win the race and become a strong power of the world. The very answer, to achieve our goal, is the application of advanced technology in our industrial system for speedy and qualitative production with limited manpower. No country can progress fast in the age of globalizing without modernizing the industrial infrastructure and streamlining the working in the factories and industries. India has to look to these aspects to order to prove itself a champion of global market.
