How To Wash Clothes At Home
Washing clothes is a daily process in all our homes. Most of us have seen our mothers and elder ladies of the house perform this chore. First of all, they collect all the dirty clothes from the house. Then they separate silk, synthetic, and cotton clothes from each other. For cotton clothes, a mixture of hot water and soap is prepared. Cotton clothes are soaked in it for few hours. These clothes are then taken out and thoroughly scrubbed. If the dirt is of a stubborn nature then the clothes are beaten with a washing stick When they become clean they are rinsed in clean water till all the soap is washed away. Colored clothes are washed in cold water so that their color does not fade away. They are usually scrubbed with hand and are rarely beaten for similar reasons. Synthetic clothes do not need any soaking. Silk clothes are washed in mild detergents or in the soap solution prepared by soaking soap nuts overnight. This is done to retain the shine and the texture of clothes. Silk is also never soaked and washed in hot water. After washing the clothes they are left to dry. White cotton clothes can be dried directly in the sun. But colored and silk clothes are always dried in the shade lest they lose their color or harm befalls the fabric.
