E-Education
E-education has become a favoured phenomenon in this vast rush of knowledge where all types of information is being generated and are becoming easily accessible through Internet.
Using Internet, students can today apply to distant universities for higher education without moving from their homes. Through e-mails they can receive or gather instructions, materials, question papers and send even answer sheets.
Today many students are adopting e-education as it saves lot of time which is lost in travelling from one place to another.
Moreover with the help of digital library one can also do research in short amount of time as it can provide all the information quickly. This all has become possible due to the information technology but a person obviously can only utilise this useful technology only if he is computer and Internet literate.
CD-ROM and DVD are the two media mostly used in the e-education system. Large amount of information can be stored on it and it can be easily carried to any place. E-education system is nowadays being implemented in many schools worldwide. Even in India the schools are using internet where students are encouraged to learn through computers and internet.
Thus, e-education is available today to a large number of people irrespective of their geographical location.
E-education is a fast emerging system in India also which bodes well for the spread of education.
