Co-education
Co-education means boys and girls studying together in the same institution. There is much to be said in favour of this system of education. Boys and girls learn to adjust with each other from an early age and so do not have problems when they become adults. They grow up together in a healthy atmosphere of openness and friendship. They are educated in all ways and can cope with any situation without becoming worried or anxious. A spirit of fun and competition exists in a co-educational school and both boys and girls become more aware of the world around them.
However, co-education has a few disadvantages too. The tender years of these children are full of stress, as they try to face the problems of coping with the opposite sex. They feel restricted and their personalities do not get a chance to develop freely. Certain subjects in the curriculum become difficult to study and on the games field too both sexes feel inhibited and shy by the presence of the other.
Most schools, these days are co-educational and are run successfully. On the other hand, there are many institutions still which admit only boys or only girls and these too are doing equally well. So the choice of school is all yours!
