A Visit To India International Trade Fair
Every year in the months of October and November, the India International Trade Fair is held in Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. I along with my parents visit this exhibition every year Nearly all the states in the country set up their pavilion here. On show are the latest industrial products, handicrafts, and models of various development projects. Manning these pavilions are the trained staff. They explain in great detail about Various items and models on display. Besides, each pavilion reserves some space for selling wares from their city. These counters do a roaring business during the exhibition period. Their products range from eatables to clothes, furniture, and handicraft. My regular visits have brought to light a fact that the pavilion of Punjab is the most popular pavilion every year. Along with the state pavilions are the pavilions set up by big business houses of the country. The business houses are represented either by their subsidiary companies or their corporate offices. They do business worth millions in the form of contracts, inquiries, a Memorandum of understandings, and direct sale of their products. Expositions of the private sector bring home the contribution of this area in the development of India.
